There is something that brings a certain joy to my heart when I walk into a gift shop and see something beautifully crafted only to find out it was locally made. The same goes for anything artisan; food, clothing, music- the hidden gems that make populations unique. They are like the indigenous wildflower or state bird. There is just something right about viewing things in their original context. Native craft is all about that- the local artisans in their natural habitats.
